If you are serious about getting into triathlon or improving in triathlon then you are at the right place!


From my experience, every coach will have certain beliefs on how to prioritize types of workouts. For me, underpinning everything is having an athlete centred approach which means the most important  thing is the athlete/coach relationship. 

 

Next, there is the important step of getting enough information from the athlete to construct a suitable programme. It is impossible to create the ‘perfect’ plan as work, family and life tend to get in the way!


It is important to understand that I take an adult education approach towards the coach/athlete relationship. By this I mean that there is a large component of personal responsibility and accountability.

 

As an athlete, there will be key sessions to complete and others that are adjustable. You are allowed to make decisions/adjustments around those just as you may be required to do in a life.
